Gradings 2023

British Championships, Worcester

Hereford Tae Kwon Do club had a small team participating in the recent T.A.G.B. British Championships held at the Worcester Arena. The T.A.G.B. is the largest individual association in Europe and with 1500 competitors and 16 rings, with World, European and National champions on display, this was going to be a fantastic day of skill and hard work.

With half of the team new to competing this year, Oskaris Rackauskas had a phenomenal day, retaining his title that he won for the first-time last year, Daniel Evans won his first British title winning 5 fights in only his second competition after winning the Welsh a few weeks earlier and Leah Cashin won Gold in only her second competition also.

Hereford Tae Kwon Do took part in the Welsh Closed championship held at Pontypool on the weekend. This is the first competition and a great warm up for the upcoming season, especially as the British Championships is only 4 weeks away.

With 30% of the team comprising of first timers, I was very pleased with the outcome. Not all came away with medals, but they all came away with invaluable experience that will help them in the future.

River Wye Festival

It was great to be invited to the River Wye Festival in Hereford, great meeting lots of people from the surrounding area and for the students to pt on a fantastic display and give taster sessions to anyone that was interested in trying out a wonderful new sport/lifestyle.

North Midlands Championships

A fantastic event at the North Midlands in Nottingham yesterday.

Midlands championships, Kettering 25.06.22

Congratulations to James Goodfellow, who was the sole representative for Hereford at the Midlands Championships, held in Kettering.

James had a fantastic start to the day coming away with Silver in the patterns division and finished the day off with a gold in the sparring.

James has had an amazing run of form coming away with 4 golds, a silver and a bronze in 3 competitions over 4 weeks.
